Papa Loggy, manager of highlife artiste, Daasebre Gyamena has observed that hiplife artiste, Okyeame Kwame will be the richest musician in Ghana a year to come.
According to Papa Loggy, the seriousness of Okyeame Kwame’s management is his basis for his claim.
He was of the view that most artiste managers are lazy in securing deals for their artistes as they mostly wait for corporate entities to approach their camps. Papa Loggy believes a responsible management should fish for deals for their artistes just like in the case of Okyeame Kwame.
“I can bet you that a year to come, Okyeame Kwame will be the richest musician in Ghana because when I went to his office, the way things are organised is amazing. The guy means business. Have u asked yourself how he secured the Hepatises deal? He volunteered and paid the bills of victims. Ask how he has benefited from that…,” he said on AM Pluzz.
Papa Loggy opines that the high level of incompetence of some managers have rendered their artistes poor.
“It is not the system; the artistes are lazy. They do not make any move. They always wait for corporate entities to approach them. When you make the move, it doesn’t mean you are cheap. Once you get the money, how you got it is needless… Ghanaian artiste managers are so incompetent. They are the major cause of artistes going hungry,” he opined.
On whether there is hope for the future, the Chief Executive Officer of Loggy Entertainment said on condition that managers will sit up.
“There will be hop for the future if managers realise the need to chase deals for their artistes than sitting aloof,” he asserted.
Loggy disclosed that his artiste, Daasebre Gyamena does not have money and that is why he has been lobbying for the highlife singer in their less than three months of working relationship, “and that is what an artiste manager should do.”
Okyeame Kwame has a record label, One Mic Entertainment and also runs Firm Bridges Communications with his wife as a co-founder. He has been a brand ambassador for MTN Ghana, GT Bank, Coca Cola among others. The rapper is also a partner in Horsemans Shoes, a shoe manufacturing company.
