Ghanaian highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena has indicated that he doesn’t find himself in competition with anyone including Bisa Kdei.
According to the “Aso” hitmaker, it’s unfair for the public to constantly compare emerging artistes to already existing artistes because it is not good for the music industry.Kwabena Kwabena made these submissions when he was reacting to the perceived competition between himself and singer Bisa Kdei on Neat FM’s “Entertainment Ghana” show.
The multiple-award winner stated that he’s happy Bisa Kdei’s “Mansa” has become a hit since he feels responsible for it. According to the highlife singer, when he heard the song, he advised Bisa to let Kaywa produce it and he’s happy Bisa listened.
“Bisa is a great artiste and we all need to support and I pray that more young ones would come from underground to also become great Highlife artistes. We are trying to build Highlife and the likes of Mark Okraku Mantey and others have also been pushing Highlife music.
I have held the mantle for all this while and now Bisa is here to support, people want to create competition between us. No way! I’m not in competition with him. If we do that we are not helping Bisa Kdei.
I am happy ‘Mansa’ is a hit because I feel a bit responsible for it, do you know why? Though I am sorry I couldn’t make it to do the collaboration with him, you see how Ghanaians bring hatred between two artistes?
When I heard the song I told him to go to Kaywa because Kaywa will do a great job on this for you and I thank God he listened and he rubbished the first one and he went to Kaywa to do this song and today it’s a hit,” he said.
