NEWS: 5 artistes who can take Ghana to the Grammys

Ghana has a whole lot of talents that can take the country’s name high. Let’s take a look at the music sector.

We have some great music makers in the country; some are out and gaining fame while others are still hiding, waiting to be discovered.

Thanks to our Black Stars, Ghana is widely famous for sports, not that alone but our cocoa and hospitality has taken us far.

At the music industry, is the Grammy Awards, originally called Gramophone Award), or Grammy. It is an accolade by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry.

Ghana has great talents in our music industry and it was hard to pick out who and who can take Ghana to the Grammy.

It was very tough, picking but behold!, below are five artistes that can take Ghana to the Grammy.

Sarkodie

Most people have a love-hate relationship with this man. Some days, they love him, others too, they seem to be disappointed in him. But he is talented and Ghanaians love his rap. Trust me, he is one of the finest rappers in GH and beyond! He makes Twi rap a fabulous fashion.

Why do you think, he can take GH to the Grammys? Come on, people, he has done it before with BET, Best International Act Award, Africa. Plus, he’s gone far to make music with Acehood. Forget the flaws, he can do it.

Becca

Becca has a way of incorporating the styles of African music into a modern one. Becca is like our Miriam Makeba, Yvonne Chaka Chaka and the likes, but let’s forget the similarities between them, she is unique. She is natural; she is Mama Africa’s music maker in this modern age.

Stonebwoy

yes, the BHIM Nation he has created, urging us to ignore the weird things happening in the world, because there is nothing new under the sun, Baafira! He does not claim he’s a dance hall legend, but he took us to the BET, like Sarkodie did. I mean, how cool is that? Do you want more reasons? No? I think it’s enough.

Efya

Ghana’s Whitney Houston, but hey, I think we should stop comparing foreign celebrities to ours. She’s not Ghana’s Celine Dion or anything, just say America has not gotten someone like her or for the record, she’s America’s Efya.

Reasons for nominating her as a potential: she has the voice, and she has not done any lame song. All her songs are just perfect. Well, not 10 out of 10, she’s good and getting better.

Wiyaala

I do not need to say much about this lady. She would not only take Ghana to the Grammys, but the whole of Africa’s culture. Just like Sherifa Guru, she’s fantastic, unique and different. Purely African and contemporary. We just need to imagine what she’ll take to the Red Carpet.

So, what do you think?

Are my nominations right? Do you agree with the list? Why or why not?

If you agree, tell me more reasons. If you don’t, nominate your own. Your opinions could be right.
